Ford 9" Big Bearing Rear Disc Brake Conversion Kit – Passenger Car Applications
Upgrade the braking performance and safety of your Ford 9" rear axle with this complete rear disc brake conversion kit designed specifically for early (old style) Big Ford bearing housings with passenger car axles and small center bore hubs (2.875").
This kit is ideal for muscle cars, hot rods, and restomods running Ford 9” rear ends with 1/2” stud big bearing axles, delivering modern stopping power with a clean, bolt-on installation.
Featuring zinc-coated drilled and slotted vented rotors, this system improves heat dissipation, reduces brake fade, and enhances corrosion resistance. The rotors are drilled for multiple bolt patterns—5x4.5", 5x4.75", and 5x5"—allowing flexible wheel fitment across a wide range of builds.
Heavy-duty black powder-coated caliper brackets ensure strength, durability, and precise alignment, while GM-style single piston calipers with integrated parking brake provide reliable stopping performance and functional emergency brake operation.
This kit includes stainless steel braided brake hoses and complete mounting hardware, making installation straightforward with no welding or fabrication required.
