Frequently Asked Questions
What year C10 trucks do your disc brake kits fit?
Our kits fit classic Chevrolet C10 trucks from 1963 to 1987. Be sure to choose the correct year range and spindle type for your setup.
Do I need to convert from 6-lug to 5-lug?
It depends on your wheel choice. Some kits retain the 6-lug pattern, while others convert to 5-lug for better aftermarket wheel compatibility.
Will these kits work with stock spindles?
Yes, many kits are designed to work with factory spindles. Others require drop spindles or specific aftermarket components.
Should I upgrade the master cylinder or add a booster?
We recommend upgrading to a dual-reservoir master cylinder and adding a power booster for improved brake feel and safety.
Can I install this kit at home?
If you're comfortable with brakes and suspension work, these kits are bolt-on and DIY-friendly with standard tools.
Are these kits for original Mustang IIs or hot rod front-end swaps?
Our Mustang II kits are made for hot rods and restomods using Mustang II-style front suspensions—not factory Mustangs.
What spindles are compatible?
Most kits work with stock or drop Mustang II spindles. Check your spindle brand (e.g. Heidts, TCI, Speedway) for proper fitment.
Can I upgrade rotors and calipers?
Yes, many kits support rotor upgrades (11”–13”) and high-performance calipers like GM or Wilwood options.
Do I need a proportioning valve?
Yes, a proportioning valve helps maintain proper brake bias—especially if your rear brakes differ from the front.
Does installation require welding?
No welding is needed. If you already have a Mustang II crossmember installed, these kits are direct bolt-on replacements.
